In a week of financial turmoil The Pub has re-opened

Good news the pub has started to serve beer and food again, there was a loveley coal fire in the bar. My wife and I had a great meal on Friday last, I had lamb and she had a steak baguette.

They are open Tuesday to Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtimes for food at the moment. and the meat is from a local Colwinston farmer. The bottle of Sauvignon Blanc that we had was lovely as well, guess we will be going back soon.

End of an era !!

Well it's gone, yes the Sycamore Pub has finally closed today, 7 August 2008. If anyone has anything to say about it please feel free. It feels like part of the village has died, but then how many of us went there regularly. I probably went about 10 times in two years, not really enough to make it worth while opening.

We have just had our Summer Fete and yes it did rain, but it looked like this. This slide show can be yours for £3.00 if you give me a blank DVD to record it on, or £5.00 if I have to provide the DVD, you will be able to play it on your TV or computer and the clarity is much better, it has been compressed and edited for web purposes. My name is Jeff Goodwin, I have set up this page and am the moderator for the time being. I have lived in Colwinston for 2 years now, the vilage is very peaceful and the people are extremely friendly to new comers, my wife and I have been very well accepted and we appreciate that. I work in Bridgend and have a few part time jobs.
